Cribz

Hello, I’m Lacy, and I love baby bedding.

I know it is so, so silly. I know it doesn’t really matter. I mean: why spend hundreds or even thousands on bedding that your baby will be completely apathetic towards; and during the course of his or her first year, will more than likely spit up on it or even pee or poop on it? I know. I have done plenty of soul-searching on this; I have tried to let it go. But — I still care.

So here are the current things I am liking.

(Oh, sidenote: I am picky, picky, picky. But at the same time I also have a wide variety of tastes.)

BOYS:

“Cameron” by Serena & Lily. My current favorite color scheme. Those pale, soothing neutrals. Is this too boring for a boy? I ove it. This, folks, is $389. That makes my throat close. No, no way.

Here is another neutral:

I have no idea where this came from! Love it, minus the mini-chandelier. White and cream bedding!

This is more like it. Puff Baby Bedding in neutral, from JCPenney — on sale for $99! If we go neutral this is the route we will take! They also have this in a dull red (not blinding bright), which I also like!

I saw this baby room on a blog a year ago. I have desperately tried to locate where I first saw this, but I have no clue! If you know and can help me link, I would appreciate it! I LOVE this room — so soothing. The owner used vintage linens. I love the pale blue and white.

I saw this baby room on Hooked on Houses. I love the dark, navy walls and starfish (sanddollars). I am iffy, though, because our bedrooms are tiny, and so I tend towards more neutral or lighter colors to make it feel more open and airy. But this one has been a favorite for a while.

“Alex.”  This is also Serena & Lily but discontinued — good thing, because I can’t afford their bedding anyway. (But they are my favorite ’bedding’ company! You should see their children’s bedding… oh my.)

Now before you think I have the most boring taste in boys’ crib bedding, I surprised myself by liking:

Carter’s Forest Friends,

and, Sumersault’s discontinued Rocket line:

That is kind of breaking out of the neutrals/no design, right?

GIRLS:

I am less sure of girl bedding. Everythign I like is ridiculously expensive or discontinued. And the one bedding set that is okay by me — Rust is iffy on. So these are more ideas.

Little Tree Bedding, I like this for a girl, but Rust is a bit iffy. He doesn’t know about blue for a little lady.

So I found this one, but the crib skirt is really, really bugging me. And the sheets, a little. But I like the bumper & quilt.

Bananafish, Love Bird

No clue where is came from, but it is probably over-the-top expensive. Very elegant, though!

This bedding has been a long-time love for me. I loved this when I was pregnant with Anna. It is by Alli Taylor, called “Lindsay.” It is discontinued. Oh, and only $900 at some stores. That’s not too much, right? (Gag.)

Rust asked if I wanted to go gray + yellow for a girl, since I have long-loved the color combination. I hadn’t ever thought of that. And when I looked around, there wasn’t much… until I saw this one (by Bananafish: “Grace.”). It is still $335 — too much for us, I think. : )

Do you think gray + yellow seems… impersonal? Too modern?

Here is a  boy’s bedding that is almost (bluish-)gray + yellow –

Serena & Lily, AGAIN. This is their “Graham” bedding. Again, $389.

So: no conclusions, no decisions, I am picky, the bedding I like is too expensive, and I have no idea what I am going to do.

(Not that it is that big of a deal, in the Big Picture.)

But I am glad I have until July. Thanks for letting me share! : )

  1. Lacy- I picked out the same banana fish love bird for a girl! I just showed Ryan and now I’m seeing it on your blog! How funny! I love, love, love the tree/bird theme for a little girl (o, and I also picked out the blue one too)!

  2. I love looking at your crib options/ideas! So fun! I saw a bedroom set (for adults) that is a similar color scheme to what you like from Hooked on Houses and the Alex by Serena and Lily. I’ll email you where I found it- but basically it’s a white and light blue (like bright-light blue) with bursts of that pretty navy and little accents of red. It’s a combo of your neutrals plus “boy” colors-and enough navy without painting the walls…it’s not baby bedding but a fun room palette to look at.

  3. Hi, I can’t figure out the way to add your internet site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please? I genuinely want to examine your upcoming posts.
