A year and a half already! I love this age. I am constantly laughing at her antics, constantly amazed at how quickly she learns things, and constantly enjoying spending my day with her!

Here is what I want to remember about sweet Anna Grace at 18 months:
She talks and talks and talks and talks. She attempts new words everyday. She recently acquired the ability to pronounce her k’s so “milk,” “book,” and “cook” suddenly sound clearer to us.
My favorite words of hers right now: “tatch” for catch; “outsiiiigh” for outside; “be-yah be-yah” for love you; “da-dee” for thank you; “deeesh-deeeesh” for stir; “pa-owrs” for flowers.
Anna is also beginning to piece two words together… “Hi guys!” “Bye guys!” and “Night guys!” are common phrases she tries out during the day.

Anna still weighs 22 pounds! I think she is going to be able to still fit into some dresses she wore last summer. : ) She also still sleeps approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and takes one nap at day from approximately 12:00 – 3:00 PM.
She can identify the letter “B” now, and she asks me to draw it with her “colors” (crayons) for her during the day. She is learning to identify “C” — she gets it correct about 40-50% of the time, and she is convinced “A” is also “B.” : )

Anna is very interested in her potty and pee-pee and diapers. She plays pretend with her baby doll, getting a wipe and trying to fold one of her diapers around her Cabbage Patch doll. She often tells us when she has gone the bathroom in her diaper, and she will even sit on her potty sometimes.
Anna loves to help–sometimes I think more than playing with her toys. She wants to be right up at theĀ counter with me when I cook and loves to stir food in bowls and roll dough. She gets excited with all the stages of laundry, so it has been fun trying to find ways for her to help. She also loves to throw little specks of dust into the trash can, and has recently begun asking if she can throw her own diaper away. (No complaints here!) Anna received a toy broom for Christmas, but she still loves to try to sweep with the adult-sized one. : )

Anna currently LOVES: babies, especially Baby Jack; looking at photos in albums; her Cabbage Patch doll “Bebe”; socks and shoes of any kind; going outside; playing catch; Cousin John, Aunt Mandy, and Uncle Larry (she talks about them ALL the time!); bread; foods to dip in ranch dressing or ketchup; most meat of any kind; multi-grain cheerios.
Anna currently DISLIKES: eggs, mashed potatoes, broccoli, non-pureed green beans; not having her milk as soon as she wakes up in the morning and from her nap; being made to come inside after playing or walking outside; being told no (ha!!).

She has begun inventing her own games–I love this!! With this comes her desire for a play partner, and she loves Rust or me to join in and participate in her favorite play.
She plays “bye-bye” with one of my old purses, where she walks from door to door, trying to open & close them, saying “Bye-bye!” and waving.

She also is obsessed with “night-night” where she makes Rust or me lay down on the floor, covered with one of her blankets & cuddling one of her stuffed toys, and she kisses us on the lips, says “Night-night!” and shuts us in her room. This is the longest attention-holder for her–we played this 20 minutes straight one afternoon!
Anna also loves playing in/with our downstairs half-bath. She loves for one of us to sit in the half-bath with her, with the door closed, while the other parent outside “knock-knocks” on the door. She loves answering it and shrieking with delight. Seriously, we play this almost every night and she still acts so surprised at who could possibly be knocking! : )

She has recently started imitating games with her Cabbage Patch doll and other toys that we play with her. She loves to try to sing (or have me sing) “Rock-a-bye Baby” while she rocks and then slams down her dolls. (We don’t slam her down… when we play this with her, we just tip her back… she takes it to the extreme!)
I feel like I could write pages and pages about this age, but this is the stuff I really cherish and savor and want to remember when she’s 18. : )
