Last Friday, I was able to spend an afternoon with my sister and her little daughter, Olivia. This was a particularly special afternoon because my sister — who is my most dear, closest friend — moved the next day to a city about two hours away! I don’t think it has hit me yet, but we have texted or talked on the phone almost every day since she has moved — I think that has helped!
Anyway, I of course went crazy taking pictures of my precious niece! Anna finished her nap halfway through our amateur photo session, so she posed for some pictures with little Livvy, too! Mandy and I spent much of the afternoon giggling because Anna’s little hand would find its way on Olivia’s head or face right in the middle of me taking pictures… Anna couldn’t get enough of her baby cousin! I’m smiling thinking back on that fun afternoon! I am SO thankful that we were able to have this special time together right before she moved… and I am SO thankful that for the past three years, Mandy and I have gotten to see each other and talk weekly. It has been a sweet, sweet gift to have braved the “parenting waters” with my sister-best friend as we became “mothers” within weeks of each other; I don’t know what I would have done without her support, encouragement, and all those hours of discussion we’ve had on parenting, mothering, marriage, and children!!

oh lacy, these picture are so beautiful!! Little Olivia is PRECIOUS. I love Anna’s picture with her, she looks so sweetly happy. I can imagine this is a hard transition for you and Mandy to be living further away from each other…I’ll be praying for you two.
