… what has made me laugh out loud the past six months. These are facebook statuses from September 2011 to present. I am SO glad I took the second to share them on facebook, or these funny little things would be long-lost.
- This conversation I had with Anna while I was making scones and she was washing dishes:
A: Does Grandpa go to work?
me: No, he doesn’t work anymore. He is retired. He used to work when he was younger.
A: Why doesn’t Grandpa work now?
me: Because he wants to stay home with Nanna.
A: Grandpa didn’t want to stay home with Nanna when he was younger? (February 21, 2012)
- Over dinner, Anna suddenly asked: “Will a creature stirring wake me up tonight?” as she made the motion of stirring a spoon in a bowl. We had a long discussion about what a “creature” was, that ended in our typical silliness, with Anna’s dictated depiction of “a creature stirring.” (Rust had read her “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” the day before, to place the context.) (February 21, 2012)
Overheard Anna say, while coloring over at friends’ house for a playdate, “This is me as a boy, and this is Noelle as a man.” (February 14, 2012)
She also exclaimed one day while we were driving in the car: “Look! My body is working very hard to make more boogers!” (February 14, 2012)
Overheard Anna say this while playing: “And the fireman said, ‘Okay, little girl, time for you to go back into your cage.’” (January 26, 2012)
“I love that Anna calls an ostrich a “nostril” and her thigh her “ankle”‘. (January 12, 2012)
Anna, with Noelle on her lap, says to herself: “Look at me, I am holding baby Jesus and reading him Goodnight Moon.” (January 2, 2012)
All day today, Anna has been calling me “Miss Mother Antsy.” No clue– but I love it because it makes me laugh out loud. (December 22, 2011)
Favorite quote of hers from yesterday (Anna to Rusty): “Daddy, where are your boy tights?” (December 12, 2011)
Anna to Rusty Tatum tonight at bedtime: “Daddy, I’m going to give you some of my hair so you can have longer hair.” (November 18, 2011)
Played Christmas songs for the girls… One of the first songs to play was “The First Noel.” Anna ran over to Noelle and said, “Hey Noelle, the Christmas music is singing to you!” (November 8, 2011)
Love overhearing Anna coaxing Noelle to come sit in her lap so she can show her something. Further love peeking around the corner to see Noelle plopping down in Anna’s lap. (October 25, 2011)
I told Anna it was time to help clean up, and she ran over to me and whispered desperately, “I just gotta dance!” (October 11, 2011)
Overheard Anna talking on her fake cellphone: “I can’t come home from the hospital yet, children. I am getting a new baby, and he needs me to keep him safe.” (October 11, 2011)
Took Anna yesterday afternoon to Sweet Sallie’s for a strawberry cupcake for her birthday treat. That night, while tucking her in, she said, “Momma, I’m going to dream about how beautiful my cupcake was.” (September 19, 2011)
Overheard, Anna to Noelle: “If you don’t obey you don’t get any sausage.” (August 17, 2011)
From Anna today: “Did God make poopie, too?” (August 11, 2011)
Anna, holding her imaginary baby: “Oh my goodness, he is too heavy for me to hold.” Mmm, she must have heard me referring to her 28-pound 13-month-old sibling… (August 9, 2011)
“I just want to sit in the floor and eat meat.” — Anna (July 29, 2011)
Sweetest thing in the world = Noelle walking to Anna’s outstretched arms & then Anna whispering, “Good job sweetie!” while they hug. (September 2, 2011)

I love these! My favorite for sure is the “you won’t get any sausage”… Made me laugh out loud! That Anna is one funny girl.
