A bit about us…

Rust & I both grew up in small Southern towns. We love living in the South. We love living in a small town.

We met in college, were acquaintences for two years, became friends, dated for a year, & became engaged in February 2006. We were married five months later, in July, right after I graduated college.

Rust has an MIT degree. I have a psychology degree.

Rust is an engineer in a nearby town. Before babies, I worked two years part-time at our local pro-life pregnancy clinic. I loved my job & I miss it, but I traded one dream job for another. : )

Anna Grace was born in September 2008 exactly on her due date! My labor was 15 hours long. She weighed a whopping nine pounds five ounces!

Noelle Claire was born two years later, July 2010, 10 days before her due date. She weighed eight pounds eight ounces. My labor was only 4.5 hours long–much nicer!

During Anna’s first year, I had an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in emergency surgery in February 2009. That summer, July 2009, I had a second pregnancy loss, this time a miscarriage very early on in my pregnancy.

We would LOVE to have many more children! : )

Rust has one brother; I have one sister (whom I mention so frequently it’s almost a quarter her blog-ha!). We are blessed an awesome brother-in-law (married to my sis, Mandy).

We have two awesome nephews, which are my sister & brother-in-law’s sons. Jonathan (or John) was born three weeks before Anna in 2008. Jackson (Jack) was born in January 2010. My sister’s family also just grew with the addition of sweet Olivia, born January 2012!

We are Christians passionate about our faith & relationships with God. For us, being a Christian is a life-style, a way of living, not just one aspect of our life, but a relationship with God which defines & informs & directs our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and decisions. What I mean is, what type of spouse, child, sibling, worker, etc., we are is being determined daily by our faith. It is all-encompassing to us. We are constantly in a process of change, and we truly want what is most important to us (our relationship with God) to be reflected in all areas of our life! We fail everyday, but we rely on God to transform us as we walk through this life with Him.

We are members of a small church which has been a beautiful blessing to us these past two years.

I love cooking, trying & sharing new recipes, wreath-making, minibooks, writing, photography, reading, & living life with my family!
